MADRID. AP. La actriz mexicana Adriana Barraza será reconocida con el Premio Platino de Honor 2018 del Cine Iberoamericano por sus contribuciones al séptimo arte a lo largo de más de cuatro décadas.
La «gran dama del cine iberoamericano» recibirá el galardón durante la 5ta edición del Premio Platino, que tendrá lugar el 29 de abril en Xcaret, en la Riviera Maya mexicana, anunciaron el martes los organizadores.
Barraza «cuenta con una impresionante y polifacética carrera que además destaca por su compromiso y dedicación a la industria cinematográfica iberoamericana», dijo el comité de dirección de estos galardones en un comunicado.
El premio destaca su trayectoria profesional como actriz, directora y productora, además de maestra y referente para las nuevas generaciones.
Barraza cuenta con una extensa y variada filmografía que incluye desde cintas de terror, como «Arrástrame al infierno» de Sam Raimi, hasta superproducciones como «Thor» de Kenneth Branagh y las películas de Alejandro González Iñárritu «Amores perros» y «Babel».
Por esta última recibió reconocimientos internacionales que incluyen nominaciones a los premios Oscar, Globos de Oro y SAG.
Ha trabajado con directores como Sally Potter, Robert Duvall y Guillermo del Toro y compartido la pantalla con actores como Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, Gael García Bernal, Luke Wilson, Judy Dench, John Leguizamo, Jude Law, Steve Buscemi, Shawn Ashmore y Jennifer Aniston.
En años previos, Edward James Olmos, Ricardo Darín, Antonio Banderas y Sonia Braga recibieron el Premio Platino de Honor.
